Generating Impact through Reforestation
At Be Impactful, we believe sustainability starts with protecting the very foundations of life, our forests, waters, and biodiversity. Beyond reducing carbon footprints, we are committed to actively regenerating the ecosystems that sustain communities and wildlife. That is why we are proud to spotlight our reforestation initiative in alliance with a dedicated environmental organization working in southern Ecuador’s most threatened landscapes.
For decades, this region has faced the harsh realities of climate change, deforestation, and destructive wildfires. Recent events have underscored the urgency: in just a few months, thousands of hectares of native forest were lost, along with critical habitats for endangered species like the Andean spectacled bear. Our project aims to turn this loss into a story of recovery and resilience.

The reforestation initiative focuses on restoring degraded micro-watersheds in San Antonio de las Aradas, Loja, a vital area for water security and biodiversity. Every tree planted begins its journey from locally collected seeds, germinated in community-run nurseries.
This is more than planting trees; it’s rebuilding an ecosystem. Native species are carefully chosen to restore soil health, regulate water cycles, and provide shelter for wildlife. Local families lead every step of the process, from seed collection to long-term care, ensuring that the benefits are both environmental and economic. By creating jobs and diversifying incomes, the project strengthens the community’s role as guardians of the land.
Through Be Impactful, every guest’s journey contributes directly to this reforestation fund. Your visit helps purchase seeds, grow seedlings, transport them to planting sites, and provide ongoing care during the crucial first years. This transparent, hands-on model ensures that the impact of your travel is measurable and lasting, resulting in restored forests, healthier watersheds, and thriving wildlife populations.
Forests are more than trees, they are climate stabilizers, water reservoirs, and biodiversity havens. Reforestation not only helps capture carbon and combat global warming, it also rebuilds the ecological balance that supports entire communities. Every seed planted today is an investment in clean air, safe water, and a livable planet for generations to come.

This project thrives on collaboration. Be Impactful works alongside experienced environmental stewards who have dedicated years to conserving Ecuador’s most vulnerable ecosystems. Together, we combine conservation science, community empowerment, and regenerative practices to ensure that reforestation efforts are strategic, sustainable, and climate-resilient.
From removing invasive species to planting native trees, every action is designed to give the land the best possible chance of recovery. The result: a living legacy that protects water sources, strengthens food security, and safeguards endangered species.
Each month, contributions from our Positive Travel System partners, combined with the support of conscious travelers, help fund seed collection, nursery operations, replanting, and forest monitoring. These efforts not only heal the land but also empower local families to lead conservation work in their own territory.
By joining this initiative, you are helping restore a landscape once scarred by fire into a thriving, green sanctuary, one that will benefit people, wildlife, and the planet for decades to come.
This reforestation project is powered by travelers like you. A portion of each stay or tour booked through our Positive Travel System goes directly to planting and protecting native trees in Ecuador’s threatened ecosystems.
Together, we are turning travel into a force for regeneration, transforming burned and barren slopes into living forests, and ensuring that future generations inherit a planet rich in life and possibility.
