This is why we are proud to highlight a new initiative in collaboration with Illa Experience Hotel, one of our valued Positive Travel System partners in Quito, Ecuador.
Illa Experience has consistently shown its dedication to sustainability, not only by protecting local culture and the environment through its concept, but also by fostering meaningful social impact. A clear example of this is the hotel’s ongoing collaboration with artisans from the San Marcos neighborhood, who are invited to showcase their heritage and craftsmanship within the property, keeping traditions alive while inspiring visitors.
Now, Illa is taking its community impact even further—by supporting the education of Neysa Carrasco, a bright and determined 16-year-old girl from the very heart of San Marcos.
Despite her excellent academic performance, Neysa has faced significant challenges in continuing her education due to a lack of financial resources and limited family support. Recognizing her potential, Illa Experience Hotel has committed to a monthly sponsorship that will cover her school expenses at the Unidad Educativa Virgen del Consuelo, under the guidance of Sister Marujita.

Empowering Education, Hand in Hand
Illa Experience and Latin Trails are now expanding their impact by investing in the education of San Marcos’ youth. Each month, both partners contribute to the students at Unidad Educativa Virgen del Consuelo, a local school located just across from the hotel and led by the devoted Sister Marujita.
These contributions support students who demonstrate strong academic potential but face economic or family challenges that could force them to leave school. By covering essential expenses and providing consistent support, this initiative enables these promising students to continue their education and pursue bigger dreams.
