That’s why we are proud to spotlight a new initiative in partnership with Illa Experience Hotel, one of our leading Positive Travel System partners in Quito, Ecuador.
Illa Experience has long demonstrated its commitment to sustainability, not only through the protection of local culture and the environment through their entire concept, but also through powerful social impact efforts. One such example is their continuous collaboration with the artisans of the San Marcos neighborhood, who are invited to share their heritage and craftsmanship within the hotel, preserving tradition while inspiring guests.
Now, Illa is taking its community impact even further—by supporting the education of Neysa Carrasco, a bright and determined 16-year-old girl from the very heart of San Marcos.
Despite her excellent academic performance, Neysa has faced significant challenges in continuing her education due to a lack of financial resources and limited family support. Recognizing her potential, Illa Experience Hotel has committed to a monthly sponsorship that will cover her school expenses at the Unidad Educativa Virgen del Consuelo, under the guidance of Sister Marujita.

Their commitment comes to life through initiatives like the NESTS Project , and their long-standing alliance with the artisans of San Marcos, one of Quito’s most historic neighborhoods. Supporting Education, Together
Now, Illa Experience and Latin Trails are deepening their impact by investing in the future of San Marcos’ youth. Every month, both partners will contribute to the education of students at Unidad Educativa Virgen del Consuelo, a neighborhood school located just across from the hotel and led by the dedicated Sister Marujita.
These contributions are directed toward students who show strong academic potential but are at risk of leaving school due to economic or family challenges. By covering essential costs and providing stable support, this initiative gives promising students the chance to continue learning—and to dream bigger.
